UK’s Education urges Universities to open Virtual University
United Kingdom (UK) urged universities to consider plans of opening virtual university to compete the education needs of more students in the new millennium.
The universities in UK should compete globally so that they would not be left behind. If they would do nothing to develop their level of education especially in information technology they would be going astray.
The 21st century has become a challenging decade for educators and learning institutions to intensify their competitiveness if they want to stay tuned to the global challenge. Britain should maximize its chances of going global by instituting global developments in as far as learning.
The Higher Education Funding Council for Scotland (HEFCE) would prepare more proposals for the virtual programs that would be developed and implemented soon by many universities.
The participation of private schools and universities as a potent force to develop a strong alliance of movers for the virtual implementation project is a must.The education experts said although UK has already a lot more to offer to the world but the challenge of the new millennium is another milestone that should be given much importance.
The general plan of the project includes getting a good student market overseas when the project is already operational and has a start up of Fifty Million Euro to start the e-university project.
